ENROLLMENT

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your student at the Academy for Global Citizenship! We would be delighted to welcome you for a visit to our learning community. To schedule a prospective family tour with Principal Gillespie, please contact the school office at 773.582.1100.

The Academy for Global Citizenship is an open enrollment, free public school for students living within the City of Chicago limits. We particularly encourage families in West Elsdon and Archer Heights to apply, however, there is no neighborhood boundary or preference given based on residential area.

Students entering kindergarten (Age 5 by September 1st, 2010) may enroll for the 2010-2011 school year. Students entering first or second grade may also submit an enrollment form and will be placed on a waiting list until a space possibly becomes available. The enrollment form is available in the main office or by clicking the link below. To request an application by mail, please contact the school office at 773.582.1100. The Academy for Global Citizenship does not base admission on academic performance.

Applications are due on February 12, 2010 in order to be entered into the blind public lottery which will be held on March 11th, 2010. At this time, students will be randomly selected for available spaces for the 2010-2011 school year. The Academy for Global Citizenship does employ a sibling clause, which allows enrollment preferences to be given to the siblings of current students. Enrollment forms are accepted on an ongoing basis; families will be placed on the wait list and will be notified if a space becomes available.

The Academy for Global Citizenship welcomes students, parents, employees, and community members with disabilities. Our building and programming are fully accessible.
