There are always a variety of volunteer opportunities at the Academy for Global Citizenship. Please e-mail info@agcchicago.org if you are interested in participating.

Internships:

  • Marketing & communications
  • Graphic design
  • Technology & media
  • Culinary & nutrition
  • Documentary production
  • Local & organic food procurement
  • Community outreach & education
  • Fundraising & development
  • Early childhood program development
  • After school program implementation

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Write a press release
  • Translate a document into Spanish
  • Plan a book drive at your office
  • Plan a fundraising event at your home or place of work to support our organic food program
  • Assist with procuring items on our teachers' wish lists (classroom supplies, books, art materials, etc.)
  • Host a field trip to an interesting, unit-related places (upcoming units relate to architecture, recycling, storytelling, plant life cycles, authors, habitats, and inventions)
  • Come speak to one of our classrooms regarding a unit-related topic (see above)
  • Lead a one-time parent workshops on mission related topics such as saving energy at home, starting a garden, health and nutrition
  • Design an organic student t-shirt highlighting AGC's schoolyard chickens
  • Create a concept for a sustainable, innovative and mission-aligned for AGC to transport to job fairs and presentations

Time-specific:

  • Join our Earth Day Solar Installation Celebration event planning committee
  • Volunteer a day of your time building our greenhouse
  • Come chicken-sit when the school is on longer breaks
  • Participate in the planting of our greenhouse
