The Academy for Global Citizenship is a unique Chicago Public Contract School, located on the Southwest side of Chicago. Our mission is ambitious yet simple: to empower and nurture children with a broader understanding of the world around them and the positive role they can play in it.
Core values we teach and instill include: environmental sustainability, global citizenship and personal and communal responsibility. We welcomed our first students (kindergarten and first graders) in August 2008. Each year, we will add one grade level until eighth grade is reached in 2015-2016.
Our larger goal is to change and improve the way society educates the lifeblood of our future. Our children will be the environmental, social, and political stewards of tomorrow. Let's equip them with the advantages and opportunities afforded by high self esteem, unsurpassed education and the dream of potential.
